To Attempt Grading to 1st Dan a student will be checked over a minimum period of Two Years before the actual grading to see if the following criteria has been fulfilled.
BLACK BELT 2nd DAN (Basic Techniques)
1. Attended a minimum Six out of the Last Eight WKA Courses
2. Attended a minimum Four out of the Last Six Referee Courses.
3. Must hold a Judge/Arbiter Certificate (Practical)
4. Must hold Assistant Instructor Certificate
5. Minimum of 12 months between lst Kyu and 1st Dan Grading.
6. Private Lessons (optional, but advised)

6. Be a Qualified Referee
